Jagan demands CBI into DSC 2025 and Lokesh’s resignation; alleges Naidu government is censoring critics

YSR Congress Party chief and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on 5 September 2026 accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of censoring questions over the alleged District Selection Committee 2025 recruitment scam and other alleged failures of the Telugu Desam Party-led coalition. In a social-media post locked the same evening, he demanded an independent Central Bureau of Investigation probe and sought the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh.

Mr Jagan said fresh evidence and facts were surfacing from different parts of the State, exposing serious irregularities. Instead of answering and agreeing to a CBI inquiry, he alleged, the coalition was denying an independent probe and choosing to silence voices. He claimed that posts and accounts of opposition parties, media platforms, social activists and individuals raising DSC questions on Meta platforms Facebook and Instagram were being restricted, removed or geo-blocked, with Meta citing “legal requirements”.

Anyone questioning the coalition over corruption, failures, broken Super Six and Super Seven manifesto promises, high-handedness or abuse of power was being targeted, he alleged. Invoking freedom of speech and expression, he said that when a government cannot answer questions it silences questioners — “not governance” but “censorship” — and that no government has the right to muzzle the Opposition, media, activists or citizens merely because questions are politically inconvenient.

He asked how Mr Naidu could justify teacher jobs given without DSC exams or without passing the Teacher Eligibility Test, and alleged that sports-quota government orders were issued and then cancelled after recruitment while candidates appointed under those orders remained in place — conduct that, he said, “reeked of corruption”. He demanded immediate restoration of every restricted account, post and piece of content, clear answers to the Opposition and citizens, and a CBI investigation if the government claimed DSC 2025 was clean. Education Minister Nara Lokesh, he said, must take responsibility for the alleged irregularities and resign.
