Elections

Adoni’s wards go from 42 to 52 on a gazette. The gazette is on the municipal wall, not on a polling calendar.

A gazette is a map. It is not a date.

On Friday, 21 August 2026, Adoni municipal commissioner Nayum Ahmed said the state government had issued a gazette on the ward re-division of Adoni Municipality. Wards go from 42 to 52. The gazette notification was displayed publicly at the municipal office. Residents were asked to inspect it. Town-planning officer Balamaddayya and Swarna ward planning secretaries were with him. That is the whole of Friday’s public act.

Ten extra wards is a larger council, not a polling day. Forty-two was the old house. Fifty-two is the new house on this gazette. This desk will not invent the names of the ten new wards. It will not invent which old ward was split. It will not invent a reservation roster for the 52. No reservation roster sits on this card.

Adoni is a Kurnool-district urban body. The Kurnool urban lock is Kurnool Corporation, Adoni, Yemmiganur, Gudur and Bethamcherla. Nandyal, Dhone, Nandikotkur, Atmakur and Allagadda sit in Nandyal district. Adoni is not a Nandyal town. A ward map in Adoni does not move Nandikotkur. Geography first.

What Friday was not is a State Election Commission notification. A gazette on ward re-division can be pasted on a municipal wall and still leave the election unnotified. Form B has no last date on this card. A polling calendar has no date on this card. If a Form B last date is not notified, this desk will say it is not notified. If a polling day is not notified, this desk will say it is not notified. Anyone printing either date from this filing is guessing.

Residents were asked to inspect the displayed notification. Inspection is a citizen’s right on a ward map. It is not a nomination. It is not a symbol. It is not a party Form B. Swarna ward planning secretaries stood with the commissioner and the town-planning officer. Their presence is a municipal-planning presence. It is not an election-officer presence this card has written.

This desk will not pull a Backward Class percentage from another file and drop it on Adoni’s 52. It will not print a mayor-or-chair rule that is not on this card. It will not print a voter-list date. It will not print a returning-officer count. Those extras live, if they live, on other cuttings. This filing is only the Adoni gazette.

A municipality that grows by ten wards is being prepared for a larger house. Preparation is the honest verb. Notification is a different verb. The State Election Commission notifies. The municipal commissioner displays. Friday’s sentence is the second verb. Until the first verb is spoken, Adoni has a 52-ward map on the wall and no booth date in the paper.

The honest picture is a Friday gazette, 42 to 52, a public display at the municipal office, a request to residents to look at it, Nayum Ahmed speaking, Balamaddayya standing with him, Swarna ward planning secretaries in the same group, and a Kurnool-district town that is not Nandyal. What this desk will not do is write Form B, write a poll week, or write a reservation table. Those sentences are not in the file.

Adoni’s wards are now 52 on a gazette. The election, on this card, has not been notified.
