On Saturday, 22 August 2026, at his Camp Office in Vijayawada, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu handed over the third-tranche rehabilitation and resettlement compensation cheque of ₹250 crore to 2,027 displaced families of the Poola Subbaiah Veligonda Project. The same sitting carried his announcement that Phase-I will be officially commissioned on 31 August 2026 for drought-prone Prakasam, Markapuram, Nellore and Kadapa districts.
