The Revenue minister puts a 24–36 hour fast-track on genuine 22A registration blocks, cites 980 distinct helpline cases, and still will not call the prohibited list a panic.

Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Monday, 24 August 2026, told a Secretariat press conference that genuine Section 22A registration issues were being cleared within 24 to 36 hours and that there was no need to panic over the prohibited list. Twenty-four to 36 hours and a no-panic line are ministerial claims. They are not a published Government Order count of acres added or deleted.

The helpline logged 1,162 calls and 980 unique complaints after dropping repeats. The split is 547 agricultural and 433 non-agricultural. Most complaints, on one public account, came from Rangareddy, Medchal and Sangareddy. On another public account, only 12 to 13 of over 300 relaxed cases were rejected, and fees paid by those unable to complete registration were to be refunded within the week. Twelve to 13 of over 300 is that account’s rejection line. A promised refund within the week is a ministerial timeline, not a treasury challan this desk has seen.

The minister said 98 per cent of genuine registrations among booked slots had already been cleared. He blamed officials for erroneous inclusion of genuine private properties and said errors would be corrected. The government, he said, is reviewing daily for four weeks, with orders uploaded online. Ninety-eight per cent is a ministerial share. It is not an audited acreage.

Survey No. 403 is the worked example, and the public accounts conflict. One account says 1,288 acres, only two plots had an issue, and the entire survey number was wrongly prohibited, including the Chief Minister’s residence, later rectified. Another account says only two of 1,280 acre were actually under restriction. This desk records 1,288 acres against 1,280 acre and will not pick one extent. The place of that survey is printed as Jubilee Hills on one account and as Kukatpally on another. This desk will not silently pick a survey-place.

Other examples on the minister’s Monday remarks include about 522 acre of government land in Medak Narsapur allegedly diverted to private individuals; a Sangareddy Pothireddypally false pre-1958 assignment claim; and Sangareddy Annaram construction on government land using adjoining private survey permissions. First information reports were ordered where fake Government Orders, bogus memos and forged signatures were used. Ordered is the verb for those first information reports. Convicted is not.

The government, on one public account, would soon take a policy decision on the Urban Land Ceiling Act and would order a Special Investigation Team probe into a 2017 land case involving 811 acre if the principal Opposition sought it. Bhoodan cases, on another account, are to be examined individually. An offer of a probe if the Opposition seeks it is not a notified Special Investigation Team. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, on a separate Monday account, directed a comprehensively revised Section 22A list this week, focused on removing dispute-free houses, flats and private properties. A directed revision is not a published new list. This cutting is distinct from the already-shipped card seeking a judicial probe. Opposition claims of lakhs of acres wrongly added remain Opposition claims the minister rejected. This desk will not merge the ministerial 980 with those Opposition lakhs.

Hyderabad’s Secretariat is the press-conference geography. Rangareddy, Medchal and Sangareddy are the complaint-heavy districts on one account. Form B and any civic-poll date are not notified.
