On Monday, 24 August 2026, YSR Congress Party leader and former Member of Parliament Talari Rangaiah accused Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh of failing to ensure basic amenities and safety for students in government schools and Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Backward Class welfare hostels across Andhra Pradesh. He alleged that students were being forced to live without adequate drinking water, sanitation, toilets and quality food.
