Back from London, the Chief Minister calls the United States-leg refusal an insult to Telangana, names Gujarat’s United States–Canada tour, and locks Telangana Rising for 7–9 December.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, back from London, held a press conference at the Telangana Secretariat on Monday, 24 August 2026. This cutting is the Monday Secretariat remarks and the December date he locked. It is not a rewrite of the already-shipped card on the Ministry of External Affairs denial and the cut-short return. The Centre’s stated reason on that earlier card — that the programme was not appropriate for the office of Chief Minister — remains the Centre’s stated reason. Monday’s remarks do not replace it.

The Chief Minister termed the Centre’s refusal of political clearance for the United States leg an insult to Telangana. He alleged discrimination and an effort to divert investments toward Gujarat. He said the purpose and the proposed meetings had been clearly mentioned to the Centre. On one opened public account he asked: “If the proposal of a Chief Minister is rejected without properly reviewing the information, can such a decision be taken without the knowledge of the Prime Minister?” A Chief Minister’s question is a political remark. It is not a notified finding that the Prime Minister was or was not informed.

On rumours of a meeting with New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, he said no such appointment was fixed. On the same public account he quipped: “Mamdani is not an antisocial element. He is an elected mayor.” On another public account he said he had not applied for permission to meet United States Vice President J.D. Vance or Mamdani. This desk will not treat alleged Vance or Mamdani meetings as itinerary. No appointment and no application are the Monday verbs.

He compared Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s recent eight-day United States and Canada visit to promote Vibrant Gujarat 2047, and asked why a similar Telangana Rising 2047 United States visit was denied. On one public account he called the refusal an insult to four crore Telangana people. Four crore is the Chief Minister’s phrasing on that account. It is not a census figure this desk will recertify.

He announced the Telangana Rising 2047 programme on 7, 8 and 9 December 2026, including an investment summit. Seven-to-nine December is a Chief Minister announcement. It is not a gazette of delegates or a signed memorandum of understanding. He referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2015 unscheduled Pakistan visit and asked: “Whom did he take permission from? Was Pakistan a friendly country?” That is a political comparison on the Monday card. It is not a foreign-ministry paper.

Hyderabad’s Secretariat is the geography. Form B and any Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation or Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation poll date are not notified. This desk will not invent a restored United States clearance, a delegate list for December, or a Ministry of External Affairs reply to Monday’s adjectives.

Until a clearance is restored or the December summit writes its own paper, the public ledger is a Monday Secretariat press conference after the London landing, an insult-to-Telangana line, a Gujarat eight-day comparison, a four-crore phrasing, a denial that a Mamdani appointment was fixed and that a Vance or Mamdani permission was applied for, a Telangana Rising 2047 date of 7–9 December 2026, and a 2015 Pakistan-visit comparison. The Ministry of External Affairs reason from the already-shipped card stays the Centre’s stated reason. The December dates are now on the Chief Minister’s public calendar.
