Telangana Prisons and Correctional Services opened the Telangana Jail Experience at the Chanchalguda Prison Complex on Tuesday, 25 August 2026. The window runs through 30 September 2026. It is open to those aged 18 and above. Bookings are through the official prisons website or BookMyShow. A supervised paid programme is the Tuesday fact. It is not a prisoner release, and it is not a new jail.

Four paid slots start from 6 a.m. Four hours cost ₹500. Eight hours cost ₹750. Twelve hours cost ₹1,000. Twenty-four hours cost ₹1,500. Phones are surrendered. Participants wear jail uniforms and eat from prison-style plates and glasses. Meals match the prison menu. The routine listed on both public accounts is physical training, yoga, meditation, parade and vocational work — tailoring, agriculture, cleaning. Overnight stays use separate secure barracks for men and women, with supervised high-security and dark-cell options. A dark-cell option is a supervised add-on on the card. It is not solitary confinement of a convict.

One public account alone describes the complex as a historic 150-year-old prison and says the programme originally debuted in May 2026 as Jail Anubhavam, also called Feel the Jail, with fixed 12- and 24-hour stays alongside the Telangana Prisons Museum. Museum tickets on that account start at ₹10. The other Tuesday account does not carry the May debut, the 150-year line, or the ₹10 museum ticket. This desk keeps those three facts labelled on the account that printed them. It will not invent a May attendance figure.
