Two sevens-under 65s share the Telangana Open clubhouse — 27 players still out in the dark.

Chandigarh’s Akshay Sharma and Gurugram’s Manu Gandas carded matching seven-under 65s on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, and shared a one-shot clubhouse lead after the opening round of the Telangana Open 2026 at Vooty Golf County, Vikarabad. They were paired together. A clubhouse lead is not a finished first-round lead. Twenty-seven of 132 players were still on the course when play was suspended for fading light after rain.

Akshay Sharma opened with four straight birdies on the first four holes, dropped a bogey on the par-five fifth, then added four more birdies. Manu Gandas made two birdies and a bogey on the front nine, then an eagle and four birdies on the back nine. One public account notes Akshay as a three-time DP World Professional Golf Tour of India winner, third in the season rankings, and Manu as a nine-time tour winner and 2022 Order of Merit champion, 18th in the rankings. Hyderabad 19-year-old Vishesh Sharma and Delhi’s Rashid Khan shared third at six-under 66. Vishesh was bogey-free with six birdies on his return after illness. Rashid made an eagle on the par-four third, six birdies and two bogeys. Noida’s Lakshya Nagar shot a bogey-free five-under 67 and sat fifth. Order of Merit leader Saptak Talwar signed an even-par 72, tied 43rd. Hyderabad’s Mohd Azhar, last week’s Kolar Open winner, signed a one-over 73, tied 51st. Those positions are clubhouse positions on a suspended first round. This desk will not invent a cut line the opening day did not write.

Play resumes Wednesday, 26 August 2026, at 6:45 a.m. local time. The Professional Golf Tour of India tournament page lists prize money of ₹1 crore and stroke play from 25 to 28 August 2026. ₹1 crore is the published purse. It is not a Tuesday cheque. Twenty-five to 28 August is the scheduled window. Wednesday morning’s finish of the 27 unfinished cards is the carry on this paper.

A public account of the opening round was filed after midnight, so the card lives on the 26 August paper and stays tomorrow until the first round is in the book. Vooty Golf County, Vikarabad, is the geography. It is not a Hyderabad city course. Form B and any civic-poll date are not notified on a sports cutting.
